The method of indexing lifetime allowances for will be improved, as the allowance will increase from year to year with the increase of the national average salary, as decided by the Government.
At the same time, according to Minister Dan Perciun, this allowance extends to paralympic athletes and coaches with remarkable results, not only to those who participate in classical events.
The changes do not involve additional budget expenses, money was provided in the budget for the respective payments. In 2023, the budget provided 10.3 million lei for the respective allowances.
Currently, 69 people, including 45 performance athletes and 24 coaches, receive a lifetime allowance from the government.
