Sergiu Balica, entrepreneur: “I hope we can bring the standard of living in our country up to the level of the European Union”

“We want our grandchildren to be proud that in 40 years, we were able to bring the country to European standards,” says Sergiu Balica, the founder of ABS Recycling Moldova, an environmentally friendly enterprise established in 1992 that focuses on collecting, sorting, and recycling waste from Chișinău and the surrounding areas.

The businessman says that after several trips to the European Union, he was impressed by the education, the standard of living, and, of course, the cleanliness there.

In a short video interview, conducted as part of an information and electoral education campaign regarding Moldova’s European integration, Balica also spoke about his expectations from the EU.

“If we are successfully welcomed into the EU family, if we are helped, I hope that together we will reach the horizons we desire. I hope we can bring the standard of living in the Republic of Moldova to the level of the European Union,” says Sergiu Balica.

The interview with Sergiu Balica is the third in a series of stories about Moldovan entrepreneurs, aimed at involving the business community in supporting the referendum for European integration, which will take place on October 20, 2024.

This message is part of the information and electoral education campaign about Moldova’s European integration.
