The political developments in the Republic of Moldova, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy and the importance of an efficient economic recovery plan were discussed by President Maia Sandu and the President of Poland Andrzej Duda in a telephone conversation on April 21, IPN reports, quoting the Moldovan presidential press service.
Maia Sandu thanked her Polish counterpart for the financial assistance and continuous support provided by Poland to Moldova for development and for the fight against the pandemic. “In the context of the developments in the region, I highlighted that the Republic of Moldova needs a peaceful and stable environment for being able to implement the reforms needed for our social and economic development,” stated President Sandu.
She noted that Poland is a supporter of Moldova in Brussels and expressed her hope that the cooperation between the two states will develop both within the Eastern Partnership and at bilateral level.
“We conferred on opportunities and cooperation as regards the future regional projects and agreed to continue the discussions on the local public administration. Together we can do many things for our citizens. I and Mister Duda agreed to meet as soon as possible after the more difficult period of the pandemic passes,” said Maia Sandu.
