The director general of SA Termoelectrica Vasile Leu tendered his resignation. The information was confirmed for IPN by Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov.
Two days ago, Prime Minister Dorin Recean asked that the administration of Termoelectrica should be replaced by the end of this year following reports about the burying of crude oil on the territory of the company.
In a news conference, the chairman of Our Party Renato Usatyi presented videos showing how a large quantity of crude oil is being buried within the precincts of Termoelectrica. He noted that this happened during the 2022-2023 heating season, since the crude oil was received in 2022.
Earlier, the administration of Termoelectrica denied the reports, saying that the crude oil, since it was purchased in 2022, hasn’t been poured out or buried and no accidents occurred in the technological process of receiving, transfer, storing or using the crude oil. According to the company, the given videos can show an incident dating from 2015, when a quantity of crude oil poured out. Even so, the company said that it will launch an internal inquiry into this case.
