Three new medicines, included in the list of those compensated

The list of drugs compensated from mandatory medical insurance funds has been expanded with three preparations, from January 1st. The three new international common names are intended for patients with diabetes, high blood pressure and conditions requiring anticoagulant treatment, reports IPN.

For people with type 2 diabetes, a partially compensated preparation is included, which is combined based on sitagliptin and metformin, for blood sugar control. The National Health Insurance Company estimates that nearly 8 thousand patients will need this.

Patients with arterial hypertension have access to a new combined preparation, which contains valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide. The medication is reimbursed and available for free under two commercial names.

The list is also supplemented with apixaban, a modern anticoagulant partially compensated. It is used in the prevention of blood clots, including in patients with atrial fibrillation or after orthopedic interventions. Approximately, nearly 1,600 people can use it annually.
