The national flu vaccination campaign for the 2025-2026 season has concluded in Moldova, with the full utilization of the available serums. According to the National Agency for Public Health, the immunization focused on protecting individuals from high-risk groups, reports IPN.
In total, 240 thousand doses of the Influvac Tetra flu vaccine were received. ANSP specifies that all have been administered. The total number of vaccinated people has reached 239,481, the difference being explained by the two-dose scheme applied to children vaccinated for the first time, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
The campaign began in October and aimed to reduce severe forms of flu, complications, and hospitalizations. A significant proportion of immunizations were carried out among the elderly, the category most vulnerable to seasonal flu.
ANSP states that the completion of the nationwide campaign fully reflects the capacity of the public health system to efficiently respond to seasonal risks. Epidemiologists reiterate that annual vaccination remains one of the safest methods of preventing the flu.
