Ukraine plans to build a new power transmission line to ensure energy supply to the southern regions of the country. This was stated by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper. Kiper says that Ukraine’s power system was built during the Soviet era, and as a result, part of the Odesa region still receives electricity from Moldova. Ukrainian authorities are striving to change this situation to reduce dependence on electricity generated in Transnistria using Russian gas.

Regarding funding, Kiper specified that the construction of the power transmission line is being carried out by «Ukrenergo».
