The construction works for modernizing the Iași Airport are in full swing. The new T4 terminal will be ready by the end of this year, and flights will already be operated from 2024. Passengers from Moldova will also benefit from these better conditions. This was stated by the Airport’s general director, Romeo Vatră, during a talk show on Radio Moldova.
The new T4 terminal will be 10 times larger than the current T3 and will become the second largest in Romania. It will be dedicated to international flights, while the existing terminal will take over domestic flights.
“We are sorry that we cannot offer passengers from t Moldova better conditions for now, but we are in the process of building a new terminal, T4, which will be 10 times larger than the T3 terminal and which we will be completed this year. It is a big investment of more than 75 million euros”, said Romeo Vatră.
With the start of the construction works at the new terminal, the Airport’s parking lot was closed as well, leading the municipality of Iași to made available a parking lot nearby. Licensed coach operators have been granted access in front of the terminals, ensuring regular transportation for passengers coming from Moldova.
