Maxim Saculțan will compete for a bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships that are held in Poland, IPN reports.
He scored two victories in the 65 kg weight class, against Germany’s Niklas Dorm and Romanian of Russian origin Nikolai Okhlopkov. In the semifinals, Saculțan lost to the representative of the hosts Krzysztof Bienkowsk. In the small final, Maxim will meet the winner of the encounter between Andrei Bekreneu of Belarus and Ruhan Rasim of Bulgaria.
Mihail Sava (70 kg) will contend in playoffs today, while Gheorghii Rubaev (92 kg) and Samhan Jabrailov (125 kg) will start the competition directly in the quarterfinals.
