Ten members of Moldova’s Parliament of the eleventh legislature are not older than 35. Most of the young MPs represent the group of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). Eugeniu Sinkevich is the youngest MP. He is 24 and is holding his first seat of MP. The data were presented by the legislative body in connection with International Youth Day, IPN reports.
Among the PAS MPs who are younger than 35 are Ana Kalinich, Radu Marian, Marcela Nistor, Victor Spînu, Alexandr Trubca, Vasile Portsevski, and Alina Dandara. Two of them head parliamentary commissions, while one of them is the deputy chairperson of a parliamentary commission.
The list of the youngest MPs also includes Diana Caraman, of the group of the Bloc of Communists and Socialist, and unaffiliated MP Alexandr Suhodolski.
The average age of the MPs of the eleventh legislature when Parliament was formed was 47.
International Youth Day is celebrated on August 12. Designated by the Un General Assembly in 1999, International Youth Day is designed to sensitize public opinion to youth problems and to identify and realize the young people’s potential for progress and development.
