The government has developed the concept of the Information System for the record of international restrictive measures (SI EMRI). The initiative provides for the creation of a single register of sanctions and targeted subjects, reports IPN.
The system should ensure the centralized record of all international restrictive measures applied by the Republic of Moldova, including those to which the country has aligned or instituted on its own initiative.
At the same time, SI EMRI will include the national list of subjects under restrictions and updated information about sanction regimes.
The authorities maintain that the system will become a reliable and truthful source of information for citizens and the business environment, while also facilitating their interaction with the competent institutions.
The implementation of the system aims to increase the efficiency of sanction application and reduce the risks of their evasion. The project is included in the National Accession Program to the European Union for the period 2025-2029, being part of the alignment process to European standards.
