Vaccination and observance of anti-COVID-19 measures reopen borders to Moldovans

EU ambassadors on May 19 agreed a plan to ease restrictions on foreign visitors. They approved a proposal to relax rules and let in tourists who have had two doses of a coronavirus vaccine, IPN reports.

USAtoday says the European Union on Wednesday took a step toward relaxing tourism travel for visitors from outside the bloc, with EU ambassadors agreeing on measures to allow fully vaccinated visitors in. “The relaxation of rules was proposed earlier this month by the European Commission, which said entry should be granted to all those fully vaccinated with EU-authorized shots.”

Coronavirus vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency include Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The Agency hasn’t yet authorized any vaccine from Russia or China, but is examining the Sputnik V vaccine. Media reports that the executive commission also proposed permitting EU member nations to decide individually whether to allow in travellers immunized with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization for emergency use, which include the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.

Britons are a step closer to being able to go on holiday in Europe, notessky news. The scheme will go ahead if it is given the green light by ministers from member states, with a decision expected in the coming days. EU Commission spokesman Christian Wigand did not give a precise date for when the borders will reopen since EU countries have yet to formally approve the measures.

Before the EU ambassadors’ meeting in Brussels, IPN presented the National Public Health Agency’s position on the Moldovans’ travel in the European area, which has to be already adjusted to the new circumstances being unfolded in the EU.
