The police carried out searches at a place in Strășeni town where a secret gaming hall was identified. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the illegal gambling activity was conducted at night and was coordinated by a 39-year-old man, IPN reports.
The police seized two gaming tables, about 2,000 chips and 36 sets of playing cards.
The persons who were inside the hall were subject to drug tests and two of the men tested positive.
Legal action was taken over the organization of gaming that represents state monopoly, which carries a fine of 100 000 to 200 000 lei in the case of private individuals and of 300 000 to 400 000 lei in the case of legal entities, with ban on performing particular activities.
