The Perinatal Center of the Ungheni District Hospital was outfitted with high-performance medical equipment to improve the quality of emergency medical services provided to women in Ungheni and the neighboring districts, including refugees from Ukraine, the Ministry of Health said.
The Ungheni Perinatal Center was equipped with an anesthesia machine with gas analyzer, a neonatal ventilator, four-section electrical surgical table, fetal doppler for the heart, labor, delivery and treatment table, infant resuscitation table.
The center also has a type A ambulance, which ensures the rapid transfer of women at risk of complications and premature birth to higher-level perinatal centers.
The Blood Transfusion Department of the Ungheni District Hospital was also provided with high-performance medical equipment.
Annually, about 600 women give birth at the Ungheni Perinatal Center. In the first half of this year, 276 births were registered there.
The investments in the modernization of the medical institution, estimated at over 4 million lei, were made by the United Nations Population Fund, based on financial assistance from the UK.
