The Republic of Moldova will receive €2 million in non-reimbursable financing for modernizing the building heating infrastructure in the municipality of Balti. Parliament has given two readings to a bill to ratify the grant agreement with the EBRD for implementing the project “Thermoelectric System of the Municipality of Balti (CET-Nord) – Phase II”, IPN reports.
Following the implementation of Phase II, individual heating points will be set up in 166 apartment buildings. In 296 buildings, the internal horizontal heat and hot water distribution systems will be modernized.
The project aims to improve the quality of services provided to the residents of the municipality of Balti by rehabilitating the hot water supply system, introducing the internal horizontal distribution system and ensuring thermal comfort in buildings by individually controlling heat consumption, optimizing operational costs, reducing heat losses, etc.
The project implementation period is until 2024.
