The state company Energocom said that it held a number of tenders in June and July to buy 300 million cubic meters of natural gas from its own funds, after being asked to do so by Moldovagaz. Some of the total amount is destined for current consumption, and the other part has been stored in Romanian and Ukrainian underground facilities to be used in the 2023-2024 cold season. The total purchase price paid was over 116.54 million euros, with the weighted average price being 34.45 euros/MWh. Added to this are logistical costs of about 8.92 million euros (approximately 2.64 euros/MWh), which include transportation storage costs. This takes the total weighted average cost to 37.09 euros/MWh, or 424.91 USD/1000 m3. Transaction details cannot be disclosed due to contractual confidentiality clauses. “All the tariffs related to the transportation and storage of natural gas are published on the websites of th transport system operators”, said Energocom.
