The European Commission decided that the three Moldova-Romanian projects that applied for financing through the Connecting Europe Facility will be funded, the Customs Service said in a press release that is quoted by IPN
The projects are aimed at developing road and customs infrastructure at border crossing points. This way, there will be build the infrastructure of the Ungheni (MD) – Ungheni (RO) customs post, modernized the Leușeni-Albița (freight section) customs post and modernized the Giurgiulești – Galați customs post.
As a result of the implementation of the projects, the infrastructure, interoperability and efficiency of services at these border crossing points that ensure a continuous flow of freight and persons, including with the humanitarian role, will be improved. This way, the Republic of Moldova’s access to the trans-European transport (TEN-T) network will be increased.
The total value of the projects is 90 987 230 euros and the European Union’s contribution out of this sum is 45 493 615 euros (without VAT).
