Former democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc has been detained in Athens, Greece, the General Inspectorate of Police announced, as quoted by IPN.
“A short while ago, official Interpol communication channels in Athens, Greece informed that two Moldovan citizens were detained. One of them is Vladimir Plahotniuc”, the IGP notes.
Vladimir Plahotniuc left the Republic of Moldova in 2019. He is targeted in the “bank fraud” case on charges of creating and directing a criminal organization, fraud and money laundering.
Information has emerged in the public space that the second person detained is the former Democrat MP Constantin Tutu.
