Moldova’s Presidnet Maia Sandu received the Bled Strategic Forum Distinguished Partner Award. The distinction was presented to her during the Strategic Forum annually held in Bled, Slovenia, by the host of the event, Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar.
According to the organizers, the award was offered in recognition of the courage and leadership qualities demonstrated by Maia Sandu in advancing Moldova’s European course.
At the Forum and on its sidelines, Maia Sandu had several meetings with counterparts, ministers and representatives of international organizations, her Office said in a press release. In these meetings, President Sandu declared that Moldova is making progress in the implementation of ambitious reforms designed to accelerate the country’s accession to the European Union.
The Bled Strategic Forum is the most important conference in Central and South-Eastern Europe. It takes place annually at the end of summer. During the event, participants exchange opinions and generate ideas to address current and future challenges. In addition, the conference also provides a unique opportunity for personal meetings and networking for regional and global stakeholders.
