A 28-year-old man who killed his concubine with great cruelty a year ago was sentenced to 18 years and six months in prison, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that the murder took place on May 19, 2024, at night, in an apartment that the two rented in Riscani district of Chisinau. The young man stabbed his girlfriend out of jealousy. According to the forensic specialist, there were over 60 wounds on the woman’s body.
The sentence is to be served in a closed prison. The young man must also pay 1.8 million lei damages to the young woman’s family.
According to prosecutors, the defendant pleaded not guilty. The sentence is not final and can be appealed.
