Moldovan athlete Marin Robu has won a silver medal in snatch at the World Weightlifting Championships in Saudi Arabia, IPN reports.
He lifted 173 kg, being outstripped by Armenia’s Andranik Karapetyan (175 kg). Robu ranked ninth in clean and jerk with 197 kg and sixth in the general rankings with a total of 370 kg. Iran’s Mirmostafa Javadi (384 kg) became world champion in the 89 kg weight class.
Earlier, Daniel Lungu finished 26th in the 61 kg class. The competition will also involve Moldova’s Tudor Bratu (102 kg) and Elena Erighina (81 kg).
