The Moldovan boxers have won three medals at the European Youth Boxing Championships held in Sofia, IPN reports.
Ianuș Caravan became European vice champion after scoring three victories in the 63.5 kg weight class, against Switzerland’s Simon Meyer, Greece’s Kosturos Panagia and Renat Sarovs of Latvia. In the final, the pugilist from Tiraspol lost to Demur Karadjaya of Georgia.
Another boxer from Tiraspol, Nicolai Burduja, won a bronze medal in the +92 kg class.
Ilie Argatu from Comrat also won bronze. He competed in the 51 kg class.
