A case of poaching has occurred in Calarasi county, where a noble deer was found shot in a hunting field near the village of Peticeni. The dead animal was discovered by environmental inspectors, who immediately alerted the police, IPN reports.
Investigations are ongoing and the authorities have opened a criminal case for poaching, which is severely punishable under the law. An expert report is being carried out to establish the exact circumstances of the shooting.
The Environmental Protection Inspectorate calls on citizens to report any suspicious activity related to illegal hunting to help protect the country’s wildlife and natural heritage. Poaching of protected species, such as the noble red deer, is a serious crime with severe penalties.
