A person remains hospitalized after being hurt in the accident that involved a trolleybus running on route No. 5 in Chisinau. As a result of the impact, two police officers and the ticket inspector from the trolleybus were taken to the hospital. The police officers were examined and allowed to go home.
The two policemen were in the car that changed lanes and collided with the trolleybus. An extrication team was called oust to take the car driver and passenger out of the vehicle.
Contacted by IPN for details, spokeswoman for the Emergency Medicine Institute Dorina Arsene said that only one person of the three who were brought to their hospital was admitted. This is now in a medium grave condition in the Traumatology Section.
The Chisinau Electric Transports Company said the accident occurred on Muncești St close to the public transport station “Carmez Association”. There were three passengers in the trolleybus and none of them was hurt. The trolleybus driver also needed medical care.
Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Svetlana Scripnic has told IPN that the driver to blame for the accident will be punished in accordance with the law, depending on the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the victims.
