The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) will not compete in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, but will urge its members and sympathizers to support the Party of Action and Solidarity. Such a decision was taken by the National Political Council of the PLDM on May 16, IPN reports.
“We are confident that our example will be followed by other political parties that place the national interest above narrow party interests, while the national interests currently dictates unity for bringing the Plahotniuc-Voronin-Dodon-Shor regime to an end and for resetting the European course of the Republic of Moldova after the July 11 elections,” the PLDM posted on its Facebook page.
On May 14, the Central Election Commission received the files of six potential election contenders. The same day, the preliminary order on the ballot of the six candidates was decided by a draw. The Party of Action and Soldiery is under no. 5 on the ballot for now.
