Tents with heating devices were set up at the Chisinau International Airport. The Border Police said these were placed on a temporary basis, for the cold period of the year, and the responsibility for connecting them to the source of energy is borne by the airport agent, IPN reports.
The first entrance is intended for passengers with small children and the airport’s personnel without baggage. The second entrance is designed for all the passengers with hand and hold baggage that is subject to security checks.
“The safety, security and comfort of the citizens are the Border Police’s priority. Given the unfavorable weather conditions in autumn-winter, actions were taken to offer thermal comfort to the passengers who are to cross the state border through the Chisinau International Airport,” said the Border Police.
A series of special measures have been applied since August to ensure the security of citizens and to exclude risks. A scanner for security checks was set up at the entrance to the Chisinau International Airport. The vehicles cannot park in front of the Airport and are directed to an authorized parking lot.
Border Police teams, together with the Police and the General Carabineer Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, patrol the Airport and the area around it. Specialized canine teams are also involved in the process.
