The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has declared that it is committed to providing Ukraine with one hundred thousand drones by April 2026. The estimated number of devices is ten times higher than the current one, IPN reports.
The batch designated for Ukraine is worth 350 million pounds and is part of a larger military support of 4.5 billion pounds pledged by the London government, as reported by Reuters.
The British Secretary of Defense, John Healey, is the one who will make the announcement about the new drone party at a meeting of the Defense Contact Group in Ukraine. The forum will gather 50 states in Brussels.
Britain has already finalized the delivery of a total batch of 140 thousand artillery shells for Ukraine, from January until present, and is committed to additionally spend 247 million pounds this year for training Ukrainian troops.
British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, recently announced the reconstitution of the defense strategy, which “calls for a more lethal, technology-based army to counter emerging threats, including a possible Russian aggression.
