The water level in the Prut River will rise between July 19th and 26th, as a result of a temporary increase in the discharge from the Costești-Stânca reservoir, by approximately 65-70 cubic meters per second, reports IPN.
On the stretch between the city of Costești and the village of Leușeni, the level of the Prut will rise by 20-50 centimeters compared to the level recorded on July 18, and between the villages of Leușeni and Brânza, the increase could reach up to one meter, states the State Hydrometeorological Service.
According to the cited source, the rise in water level will occur within the minor riverbed and does not pose a risk of flooding.
