Two men got jail terms for sexual offenses against minors. In the first case, a man aged 40 was found guilty of raping a girl younger than 14 and was sentenced to 13 years and four month in jail, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in the autumn of 2019, the offender, being under the influence of alcohol at the domicile of his friend, raped his friend’s daughter who he knew was younger than 14 after threatening her with a knife.
Another criminal case featured the father of the raped girl, who was sentenced to 16 years in prison for domestic violence against his wife and children and for acts of a sexual character against his nine-year-old son.
The two men denied any wrongdoing.
The sentences can be challenged in the Chisinau Appeals Court within 15 days.
