Deoligarchization plan approved by Commission for European Integration

The National Commission for European Integration chaired by President Maia Sandu approved the plan for limiting the excessive influence of private interests. The deoligarchization plan forms part of the nine recommendations put forward by the European Commission, IPN reports.

The plan envisions the exclusion of the normative flaws and practical shortcomings so that the state institutions and resources could not be used in the interests of criminal groups. A mechanism will be created to periodically monitor the implementation of the measures proposed by public institutions.

Those attending discussed the next steps that should be taken to fully fulfill all the recommendations formulated by the European Commission and the diplomatic efforts made ahead of the European Council’s meeting of December 14-15 to promote the opening of accession negotiations with the EU as swiftly as possible.
