The Foreign Affairs Council of the EU approved a new assistance package for the National Army. It goes to €40 million for strengthening the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Defense said the assistance is provided through the agency of the European Peace Facility (EPF). It will be directed to developing the national airspace supervision capacities, transport and mobility capacities and logistical and communications capacities of the National Army.
Earlier, the EU approved €47 million in financial assistance for developing the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova in 2021 and 2022. This included the provision of the medical subdivisions and bomb squads with modern equipment and strengthening of the logistical, transport, communication, information and other capacities.
