Former head of Transelectrica Romania, winner of the competition for Moldelectrica

The former head of Transelectrica and Electrica companies in Romania, Corina Popescu, has won the contest organized by the Energy Ministry in Chisinau to select independent members to the Board of Directors of the state-owned Moldelectrica, IPN reports.

With a score of 9.86 points, Cristina Popescu is the first of the four candidates to be proposed by the competition committee to be appointed to the Board of Directors of Moldelectrica for a term of 2 years. The other three are Bogdan Toncescu, Oleg Stiopca and Eugen Ghiletchi.

Corina Popescu and Bogdan Toncescu are Romanian citizens. Both have headed Transelectrica – Romania’s transmission and system operator. Oleg Stiopca is a university lecturer at the Technical University of Moldova and Eugen Ghiletchi is Head of the Financial Sector Reform Department at CADMUS Group.

The interview was held on May 8, with 12 candidates who were admitted after the evaluation of the files.
