President Maia Sandu said that next year, she will do her best for this year to be easier for healthcare workers. As the President, she will formulate legislative proposals aimed at supporting and protecting the health professionals and will promote motivational policies so as to persuade the doctors to remain at home. “You are no longer alone in front of the ordeal. You have reliable allies in my person and in the person of my team,” Maia Sandu stated in a video message that was posted on her Facebook page.
According to Maia Sandu, Moldova needs a lot the doctors and she and her team will do their utmost for them to live and work at home and feel safe.
The official noted that in 2020 the pandemic came as a heavy burden for doctors in Moldova. Even so, they daily choose to go to work tired, insufficiently equipped and risking their lives. “Dear doctors, nurses, doctor’s assistants, pharmacists and other staff members who protect our health, the people in Moldova know your sacrifice. We are grateful for your work. We thank you for saving us daily. In 2021, I wish you health and strength to go on. Before the holidays, I wish you real leisure time and to enjoy the warmth of your close relatives,” runs the message.
Maia Sandu noted the healthcare workers who died after becoming infected at the workplace this year are remembered and are considered real heroes.
