Moldovan wrestler Mariana Draguțan finished fifth at the World Wrestling Championships held inBelgrade. In the match for the bronze medal in the 55 kg weight class, she was beaten by Canada’s Karla Gonzalez, IPN reports.
In the 1/8 finals, Mariana lost to the future finalist, Oleksandra Khomenets of Ukraine, but in the playoffs defeated India’s Sushma Shokeen. In the 55 kg class, she won against Japan’s Mayu Mukaida.
The competitions today will involve Anastasia Nikita (59 kg) and Irina Rîngaci (68 kg). Anastasia meets Laurence Beayregard of Canada, while Irina will face the winner of the encounter between Noemi Szabados of Hungary and Dalma Caneva of Italy.
