The citizens of the Republic of Moldova will be able to travel to the Kingdom of Spain without having to change the driving license and will not encounter impediments in the examination of documents. In this regard, Moldova and Spain signed an agreement on mutual recognition and conversion of national driving licenses, IPN reports.
According to Minister of the Interior Adrian Efros, the signed agreement is an important step to make travel easier for all drivers. It is also an important step when talking about the diaspora of the Republic of Moldova in the Kingdom of Spain, meaning over 18,000 citizens who will benefit from this agreement. Thanks to the agreement, the Moldovan citizens who decided to stay and work in Spain will have the opportunity to convert their driving licenses issued in the Republic of Moldova.
Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gómez, Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Spain, said that the signing of the agreement is an eloquent manifestation of Spain’s will to support Moldova on the European path. Road safety is one of the important challenges faced by the ministries of the interior of the two states.
The Spanish official noted that he discussed with his Moldovan counterpart the fight against organized crime, trafficking in human beings and drugs, as well as civil protection and response to health or migration crises.
