Germany supports Moldova’s European path and will continue to help Moldova build resilience and develop. “Moldova is the land of opportunities and Germany will remain by its side to capitalize on them,” Michael Roth, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, stated during a meeting with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, IPN reports.
The officials discussed the importance of implementing reforms to make progress on the European path, to ensure Moldova’s economic development, and also the security situation in the region.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked Germany for the support provided to Moldova, which, according to him, contributes to strengthening key sectors. He also emphasized the support offered by the German side to Ukraine. According to Dorin Recean, thanks to Ukraine there is peace in Moldova and thus the authorities can focus on modernizing the country, based on four priority directions: economic development and enhancement of welfare, peace and security, anticorruption and justice reform and European integration.
Dorin Recean noted that the Government tends to develop the national economy and attract investments that will generate new jobs at home.
