The Republic of Moldova is further confronted with hybrid war elements, with hundreds of cybersecurity attacks being reported last year. Propaganda and disinformation are also among the threats against which Chisinau fights, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița stated in a discussion with the President of the European Council Charles Michel in Brussels, IPN reports.
Natalia Gavrilița underlined the measures taken by the Government to alleviate the impact of the overlapping crises on national security and the citizens’ wellbeing, including by providing subsidies for electricity and gas. She also spoke about the economic recovery efforts initiated by the executive together with entrepreneurs and the development partners.
The President of the European Council approved of Moldova’s European integration efforts and good cooperation with Ukraine. Charles Michel noted that despite the limited resources of the country, Moldova’s openness to and solidarity with Ukraine and its citizens are commendable.
The two officials exchanged opinions on the organization in Moldova of the meeting of the European Political Community, the agenda of the event and the level of preparation for this.
