Officers of the National Anticorruption Center and anticorruption prosecutors on Tuesday morning carried out searches in the home and office of the head of the Balti Local Office of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) and in the home of the manager of an agricultural business, IPN reports.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, 31,000 lei, contracts, payment orders and fiscal invoices showing that transfers were made to partner legal entities as a result of searches.
On January 24, 2023, the anticorruption officers carried out investigative measures in a number of criminal cases started over abuses of office, passive corruption, active corruption, influence peddling and money laundering. A number of AIPA functionaries and representatives of business entities were arrested on suspicion they committed illegalities when providing agricultural subsidies.
