The Parliament convenes for the second regular session of this year, starting with September 1, according to a provision signed by the President of the legislature, Igor Grosu. The deputies will meet in plenary sessions, at the proposal of the Permanent Bureau, after finalizing the project of the agenda, reports IPN.
The priority of the autumn session, according to the Legislative Program of the Parliament for the year 2026, is the harmonization of national legislation with that of the European Union.
This summer, the Republic of Moldova opened two negotiation clusters with the EU – “Fundamental Values” and “External Relations”. The other four clusters, targeting the internal market, inclusion, the green agenda, and agriculture, are set to be opened depending on the fulfillment of the necessary criteria and conditions.
According to the Parliament’s Regulation, the legislature convenes in two regular sessions per year. The first begins in February and ends no later than the end of July, while the second starts in September and concludes no later than the end of December.
