Petrocub defeated Sheriff 1-0 in the derby match of the 12th stage of the National Super League. The only goal was scored in the last minute of the first half by Vladimir Ambros. The captain of Petrocub scored with a head kick following a pass from Iaser Țurcan, IPN reports.
This is the fifth victory won by Petrocub in the duels against Sheriff in the Super League and the first victory under the guidance of coach Alexei Savinov.
“Sheriff didn’t have any clear occasion for scoring in this match,” said Petrocub coach Alexei Savinov.
The other matches of the 12th stage ended as follows: Dacia Buiucani – Zimbru 0-0, FC Bălți – Dinamo-Auto 1-0 and Sfîntul Gheorghe – Milsami 1-0.
Sheriff leads with 27 points, having by six points more than Petrocub. Sfîntul Gheorghe ranks third.
