Maia Sandu met with writer, essayist, journalist and translator Vladimir Beșleagă at the Presidential Place on July 26. She congratulated the renowned writer on his 90th birthday and wished him good health and inspiration, IPN reports.
“I admire his energy, encyclopedic spirit and wisdom. We discussed the past and the «terrible times» that made him stronger and remembered the period during which he contributed to constituting the Republic of Moldova as a heavyweight of the National Renaissance Movement and as a member of the first Parliament,” said Maia Sandu.
According to the presidential press service, President Sandu thanked Vladimir Beșleagă for his character, uprightness and the literary work he created. “I wished him good health and inspiration and promised him we will work to achieve the cause for which he has struggled all his life – to build a nice country in which each person feels free and lives in dignity,” stated Maia Sandu.
