The protocol to amend the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on the building of the water pipeline that will go under the Prut River was signed in Iasi. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, IPN reports.
The first project of the kind will be implemented between Măcărești in Romania and Măcărești in the Republic of Moldova. By the end of this year, the high-quality drinking water produced by ApăVital will cross the Prut, Andrei Spînu posted on Facebook.
The investments in Romania and Moldova, up to the interconnection points, including over the border, will be made by the regional water supply and sewerage operator of Romania ApăVital. Moldova will cover the costs associated with the connection of localities from the area that will be crossed by the water pipeline.
A project to build water supply systems in 13 villages of Nisporeni and Ungheni districts, financed by the National Regional and Local Development Fund, is being implemented. These localities are to be connected to the interconnection point.
