The vaccination marathon at the Palace of the Republic in central Chisinau started at 9am. The people formed lines to get a vaccine since early morning, IPN reports.
Chisinau COVID -19 Center director Oleg Crudu, who is also the director of Saint Trinity Hospital, said the vaccination center opened at the Palace of the Republic consists of 20 autonomous vaccination lines. The people can choose from among four types of vaccine available nationwide, namely: Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Sinovac.
After the persons are administered the vaccine, they are transferred to the supervision area where they stay for 15-20 minutes so as to see if no side effects appear. There was also set up an intensive care unit for emergencies. Oleg Crudu noted no serious adverse events were reported since the immunization campaign was launched, but these can be witnessed: one case per 20,000-40,000 people.
The vaccination marathon is intended for all those who want to be protected from COVID-19 and to prevent the spread of the virus. The persons need only the identity card and don’t have to schedule an appointment beforehand. The marathon at the Palace of the Republic, situated at 16 Maria Cebotari St, will take place during May 28 – 30, from 9am until 10pm.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said the Municipal Vaccination Center located at 18 Petru Rareș St continues work.
The third stage of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which covers the general population, is taking place in Moldova. About 377,000 vaccine doses have been administered since March 2, when the immunization campaign was launched.
