Two polling stations in Russia instead of five

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published the addresses of polling stations abroad for the presidential election and constitutional referendum to take place simultaneously on October 20. The list contains only two polling stations in Russia, instead of five as announced earlier, and both are located in Moscow.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs took into account the recommendations of the competent institution, which formulated, as a result of a complex risk analysis, a series of mandatory security requirements. They are impossible to meet during the elections on Russian territory but on the (Moldovan) Embassy premises”, stated the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Liliana Barbaroșie.

A total of 2,221 polling stations will be opened for the October 20 elections, including 1,957 polling stations in the country’s electoral constituencies, 30 stations for voters residing in the districts on the left bank the Nistru, and 234 stations abroad.
