A direct air route could be launched between Moldova and China to facilitate trade exchanges and travel between the two countries. This initiative was discussed during the official meeting in China of the Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, reports IPN.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions, in a press release, that the two officials have agreed on the organization of a new round of inter-ministerial political consultations, as a mechanism for strengthening institutional contacts and identifying new sectoral cooperation opportunities.
The parties also noted the potential for developing investment relations between the two states, including through the strengthening of contacts between business communities and the utilization of existing economic platforms. Another topic of discussion was economic and commercial cooperation, with an emphasis on expanding exports and facilitating access to indigenous products, especially agro-food and wine products, on the Chinese market.
The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, emphasized China’s openness to strengthening cooperation relations with the Republic of Moldova. The official also highlighted the significant potential of the Chinese market for Moldovan products, especially for wines, with China being one of the largest import markets for agri-food products worldwide.
Minister Mihai Popsoi emphasized that the Republic of Moldova remains firmly committed to the European integration process, a strategic objective that reflects the citizens’ aspiration for the modernization of the country.
