In April, the price of vegetables increased by 16.7% compared to March and by 24.4% compared to the same period last year. The National Statistics Office data shows that, overall, average consumer prices increased last month by 1.8% compared to the previous month and by 6.8% compared to April 2025, reports IPN.
According to BNS, in April, the prices of food products and non-food goods increased by approximately 2%, and the services provided to the population by 1.1%. The highest price increases for food were recorded for vegetables, fruits, and vegetable oil. At the same time, eggs and sugar have become cheaper.
For non-food goods, the most significant increases were recorded in fuels. Diesel has become 20.4% more expensive compared to March, gasoline by 10.5%, and liquefied gases by 14%.
In the case of services, passenger transport has become the most expensive: prices for air transport services have increased by 24%, and for regular regional, interregional and international routes – by 18.7%. At the same time, in April, electricity rates decreased by 1% compared to the previous month.
Compared to April last year, the highest price increases were recorded for eggs, which became 41% more expensive, for fuels – with 25.3%, as well as for passenger transport services – with 20%.
