The Chief of the Defense Staff of the Romanian Army, General Gheorghita Vlad is on an official visit to Chisinau, at the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart Anatolie Nosatyi. During a meeting, Minister Anatolie Nosatyi underlined the Romanian Government’s constant assistance in reforming the defense sector of the Republic of Moldova, noting that Romania has been a valuable strategic partner for Moldova, IPN reports.
Anatolie Nosatyi highlighted Romania’s political support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, a vital strategic objective that will guarantee a safer and more prosperous environment for citizens.
General Vlad Gheorghiță reiterated Romania’s firm commitment to strengthening the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova, deepening the dialogue on the military dimension through new projects and initiatives aimed at modernizing the National Army, increasing the level of interoperability between the servicemen of both defense institutions through joint participation in exercises and missions, but also building the national resilience to hybrid threats.
The Romanian delegation had working meetings with specialists from the subdivisions of the General Staff of the National Army. In the coming days, General Gheorghita Vlad will have meetings at the Presidential Palace and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
The visit by the Romanian official delegation to Chisinau takes place during June 25-27, in accordance with the external activity plan of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2024.
