Ex-President Igor Dodon and his wife Galina Dodon are investigated in a new criminal case. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said the state prosecutors ordered to question the two as suspects. A doctor is also involved.
“The doctor is suspected of making and possessing false official documents that give rights. Also, the former President of the Republic of Moldova and his wife are suspected of possessing and using a false official document that gives rights,” runs a press release.
Based on this document, Igor Dodon asked judges of the Supreme Court of Justice to allow him to leave the country. Galina Dodon addressed the same request to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Igor Dodon is accused in a number of criminal cases. In the criminal case started over unjust enrichment, his wife is investigated for complicity. The ex-President is under judicial control. His wife was also banned from leaving the country.
Ex-President Dodon hasn’t yet commented on the developments.
