The secretary of the central office of the former political party Shor remains under judicial control for another 60 days. The court has accepted the prosecutor’s request for the extension of the preventive measure, with the necessary restrictions and obligations, as reported by IPN.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office specifies that the court has noted the risk of the accused evading trial.
The accusations targeting the secretary of the declared unconstitutional party, Svetlana Popan, are being examined in the same criminal case in which the mayor of Gagauzia, Evghenia Gutul, is also involved. They are accused of being complicit in the illegal funding of the political party and an electoral rival by an organized criminal group.
