65 delegations expected to attend Conference of Moldova Partnership Platform in Chisinau

The fifth edition of the Ministerial Conference of the Moldova Partnership Platform, which will take place in Chisinau on September 17, will be attended by over 65 delegations. They will consist of ministers, deputy ministers, secretaries of state of the ministries of foreign affairs of the partner states, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations. Details about the event were provided by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a press briefing, IPN reports.

The efforts are concentrated within the four working groups of the Platform: Justice, anticorruption and aecurity; Energy, energy efficiency and environment; Sustainable economic development and strategic infrastructure; Public administration reform and public finance management.

“In practical terms, we aim to increasingly connect the Republic of Moldova with the European Union through investments in infrastructure, to reduce energy vulnerability and high costs through investments in energy efficiency, to further boost economic growth by supporting the business environment. The Republic of Moldova is a provider of stability, a country where we build democracy, transform opportunities into well-being for thecitizens,” said Mihai Popșoi.

Launched by Germany, France and Romania in March 2022, after the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the Platform has helped the Republic of Moldova to cope with multiple challenges, maintain stability, continue economic reforms, the minister stressed. He noted that the ministers of foreign affairs, the co-chairs of this Platform (ministers from France, Romania) play an essential role in the stability of the Platform. The first three editions took place in Berlin, Bucharest and Paris, after which Moldova assumed the coordinating role and staged the fourth conference in Chisinau.
